A sixty-eight year old Lithuanian who currently lives in Finland, Zygis took his first photo with a 6×9 Leica camera when he was about 10 years old. From then he always carry with him a camera or a video camcorder. Before his retirement, he was a data manager for large international projects in epidemiology. Today, he is a professional growing- plants-time-lapse video producer.

Chosen from Love Mushroom’s top selling works, these 20 royalty free VJ loops stock animations are great to mix and match for video jockeys, video editors, presenters, television stations, clubs, AV companies, light jockeys, video post production, film, schools, churches, artists and others. Also perfect for use as theatre background animations or in mobile phones.

Originally from Tokyo, VJ Love Mushroom first established his studio in Los Angeles in 1999. He has since created visuals for over 300 live performances, from underground events to 30000 crowd stadium.

From the beginning, Love Mushroom has explored the synchronicity found between audio and visual elements in nature. Much of his present content is derived from images of nature he finds along the west coast.

In 2004, Love Mushroom was chosen as the sole visual creator for Paul Oakenfold’s DVD, ‘A Voyage Into Trance’. For this high profile project, Love Mushroom devised intricate 3D visuals and included special 3D glasses. The DVD climbed to #14 on Tower Records’ list of new music videos during February ‘04.

In 2006, Love Mushroom designed visual projections for iconic 60’s musical revival “Hair The Tribal Love Rock Musical” by Canadian Stage Company(CanStage), the largest non-profit contemporary theater company in Canada.

Asia Inspires ME

MotionElements Pte Ltd (http://www.motionelements.com) launches “Asia Inspires ME”, its first international motion graphics and 3d models competition to celebrate Asian inspirations. On top of winning prizes, outstanding digital artists will have an opportunity to showcase their entries at the ME booth at the inaugural SIGGRAPH Asia 2008 (http://www.siggraph.org/asia2008).

Asia is the world’s largest and most populous continent. Containing more than 60% of the world’s current human population, its rich cultural diversity inspires great creativity. “Asia inspires ME” is a competition designed for international digital artists to develop their skills and exchange ideas with one another. This competition is open to all around the globe to explore in the format of motion graphics or 3d models what inspire them from Asia.

There are three awards (Gold, Silver and Bronze) for each of the two categories of motion graphics and 3d models. Only individual entrants are eligible and multiple entries are permitted. Besides the showcasing of works at the ME booth at SIGGRAPH Asia 2008, entrants will also be offered the opportunity to become ME artists and sell their works at ME.

The “Asia Inspires ME” competition opens from 1 September. Closing date for all entries is on 31 October 2008.

The winning entries will be announced on ME’s website http://www.motionelements.com on 30 November 2008.
