Chopin, Etude in G-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 6

The Etude in G-sharp minor, Op. 25, No. 6, the sixth in line, is known as the ‘Thirds’ Etude. The right-hand part runs in thirds with unerring consistency. It might also be called a ‘chromatic’ etude: its most prominent feature is the tone coloring, and it is through timbres that it affects the listener. It is played like the wind, like a whisper.
