Description

Madison River from Quake Lake area valley rain storm Montana 4K. The 1959 Hebgen Lake Yellowstone earthquake happened on 17 Aug 1959 in southwestern Montana United States. The earthquake measured 7.8 on the Richter magnitude scale and caused a huge landslide that caused over 28 fatalities and left $11 million. The slide blocked the flow of the Madison River resulting in the creation of Quake Lake. Scars and damage to the mountain can still be seen. New geysers and cracks sprouted up in nearby Yellowstone National Park. 4K UHD HD video footage. Don Despain of Rekindle Photo. 016
