Description

Yellowstone volcanic Firehole river midway geyser basin 4K. Midway Geyser Basin alongside the Firehole River. It contains two large features the 200-by-300-foot wide Excelsior Geyser which pours over 4 000 U.S. gallons per minute into the Firehole River. The largest hot spring in Yellowstone the 370-foot wide and 121-foot deep Grand Prismatic Spring is along the boardwalk. Yellowstone was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1 1872. The ecosystem and forest meadow and river is diverse. At least 2 million tourists have visited the park almost every year the largest number in a month was July 2010 with 975 000 visitors.
