Born in Melbourne, I spent the early years of my life living in the then British Protectorate of Singapore listening to my father and his friends singing Hakka Chinese Folk Music. Some years later we left the newly minted country of Singapore to head off to Perth before back to Melbourne. While in primary school I sang in the school's choir and learned the piano. In secondary school I played the trumpet int the school orchestra and did the odd solo performance in the Asian Australian Family Association concerts. In year 12 at school I built a single board synthesiser for my physics project. After graduating with a degree in Electronic Engineering, I purchased a DX9 as played in a garage band. Apart form singing as a Brother in Jospeh for the Holroyd Musical and Dramatic Societyy, then my music has lapsed. Now I am retuning to music and returning to the music of my early years.
