Description

Joken Temple is a Nichiren sect temple located in Komaki, Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

The inner temple of Komaki Suwa Shrine. Approximately 1,500 years ago, during the reign of Emperor Suiko, during the Daido era (806-810), Keiden Ajari, a disciple of Kobo Daishi, moved to Tobari-go, Shimousa Province (present-day Kashiwa City). After using secret techniques to subdue the dragon god hiding in the swamps of Tobari, he built a temple (the predecessor of Dojo-ji Temple and Joken-ji Temple) and enshrined the dragon god as ``Kazehaya Myojin.''
