Description

Eternal Father, Strong to Save is a hymn traditionally associated with seafarers, particularly in the maritime armed services. Written in 1860 by William Whiting. It is inspired by the dangers of the sea described in Psalm 107. It was popular with the Royal Navy and the United States Navy in the late 19th century, and variations of it were adopted by branches of the military in the United Kingdom and the United States. John B. Dykes composed the music titled Melita (Malta) This hymn has been used at funerals with the US Navy. It was also used at the funerals of several US presidents. Here it is presented with an orchestra ensemble of piano, flute, harp, strings, and choir. 98bpm.
