Monument to Lovers appeared in Square on the Pushkinska street (now the Architects Square) in 2002 and immediately caused a wave of criticism – the inhabitants of the town did not like the thin figure of lovers, and a monument to the people dubbed the “Kamasutra from Auschwitz”. The monument has been repeatedly vandalized, and therefore, during the reconstruction of Square it was surrounded by a fountain.
