Monument to the Battle of Stalingrad where fierce battles took place, beginning in September 1942 and ending with January 1943. Today Mamayev Kurgan is known primarily for the monument ensemble "Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" with the main monument "Motherland Calling!". On Mamayev Kurgan there are several brotherly and individual graves, in which the ashes of more than 35,000 defenders of Stalingrad are buried. Russia, Volgograd.
