He was the foremost Mormon pioneer colonizer and led the Mormon church to the Utah Territory as their religious Prophet. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was headquarter in Salt Lake City but due to heath he built a home in southern Utah for residence during the winter.
