Question 1

What is a model release and property release?

Accepted Answer

Model and property releases are signed documents which inform that the people or property (trademarks, brands, works of art or buildings) featured in the stock image or video clip are safe to use. To use a stock image / stock video in your commercial project all you need to know is that a release has been signed - the actual copy of the release is not required.

Stock content with signed model release and property release are marked accordingly on the product page description.

Question 2

What is a stock vector?

Accepted Answer

Vector images, unlike raster files (JPGs, PNGs, GIFs), are made up of many individual, scalable objects defined by mathematical equations rather than pixels. This means that vector graphics can be heavily edited, resized - enlarged or minimized infinitely without any loss in image quality.

Stock vectors are illustrations and icons that can be licensed and used in a wide variety of creative projects - commercial or personal. Stock vectors commonly come in scalable .eps format, .ai, and .svg formats.

Question 3

How can I use stock images and stock vectors?

Accepted Answer

You can use stock images and vectors on your computer with Windows or Mac.

Stock images can be cropped, retouched as far as their terms of use allow - according to your project’s requirements on all visual editors while stock vectors would work best on Adobe Illustrator, CoralDraw and other similar software.

Question 4

Where can I use stock images and stock vectors?

Accepted Answer

They can be used to create videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Twitch, Vimeo, broadcast, commercials, film & tv, online ads, infographics, websites, weddings, games, marketing, presentations, applications, non-profits, NFTs & Metaverse platforms and all platforms that will be created in the future.

Question 5

What is a stock image?

Accepted Answer

Stock images are professionally shot photographs that can be licensed and used in a wide variety of creative projects - commercial, editorial or personal. Stock photos feature an increasingly diverse and wide variety of subjects, including nature, people, medical, business, lifestyle, everyday objects, food and drinks, fashion, etc.

Question 6

What does Royalty-free mean?

Accepted Answer

Royalty-free describes intellectual property that can be used without having to pay royalties. Once a one-time fee is paid for a royalty-free license, the buyer is free to use it without having to pay recurring fees to the intellectual property owner.

While a royalty-free license gives a person the right to use it, the intellectual property still belongs to the original owner. Anyone who buys a royalty-free license is entitled to use the same content. In other words, royalty-free content is not exclusive.

However, there are many perks of using royalty-free content. A buyer does not need to attribute the owner and each content can be used as many times as desired in as many projects as possible.
