Saint Kitts and Nevis is a small state in the Caribbean. The country is located on two islands: Nevis and Saint Kitts. They belong to the Lesser Antilles.
Columbus named Saint Kitts after Saint Christopher, who is the patron saint of travelers. Years later, the sailors shortened the name of the saint to "Keats" for convenience. But the island of Nevis received such a name because of the mountain peaks wrapped in snow-white clouds, because its name literally translates as "our snowy lady".
