Cicada singing on tree (close up)

The male cicada produces a call from the drum like "tymbals" on the sides of the abdominal base. This lets a female (and other males) know where he is. This is one of the loudest cicada and while shooting the footage I recoded 90+db and had to ware earplugs.Cicada: Razor Grinder (Henicopsaltria eydouxi)
