An explanatory plaque on the site of an ancient Buddhist complex in Mongolia

Erdene Zuu Buddhist monastery - one of the oldest monuments of Mongolia, located near the town of Kharkhorin, on the right bank of the river Orkhon. Erected in 1585 on the personal funds Khan Abate, it was the first of its kind in the religious and cultural center of Mongolia since the Middle Ages.
