Wildlife bird Mourning Dove windy day. Mourning Dove (Zenaida macroura) marooned on a cruise ship off the coast of Alaska. Sitting on deck rail with no land to fly to. One of the most abundant and widespread of all North American birds. It is the leading gamebird with more than 20 million birds shot annually in the U.S. both for sport and for meat.
